All assignments to a division are based on birth year. Once assigned to a team, players will stay on the same team until they age into the next division. Players that age into the next division or are new to the league enter the "Draft". We do try to place siblings that are in the same division together. Any returning player must be registered prior to the draft (2 weeks prior to season start) or the are NOT guaranteed to return to their team or a placement.
PeeWee Draft - Players that age into the division or are new to the division are assigned out to each team by commissioners. At this age we try to keep talent balanced. We will try to honor any friend requests but those need to be submitted prior to the draft(2 weeks before season start). Any late friend requests will not be honored.
Bantam & Junior Draft - Players age up from previous division or are new. Coaches from each team go through rounds and pick players to their teams and fill their roster. Any friend requests must be received prior to the draft(2 weeks prior to season start). Those are shared with the coaches and they can try to honor them when picking their players but they are not guaranteed.
Generally speaking, for the COMPETITIVE DIVISIONS (Fall/Spring 2nd and up), on rainy days we play unless there is lightning, a downpour, or prior rain has made the field unplayable. If we cancel a session or games, we will send an email via TeamSnap and post it on Facebook. We like to avoid canceling games, as rescheduling them is very hard.
For the INSTRUCTIONAL DIVISION (Fall PK,K,1st), we will play in very mild rain/drizzle, but not if it is raining steadily. As above, we will send a morning email alert and post the status on Facebook.
A division is basically a way via age to group players. We use the child’s grade in school as the quick determination of division placement, however, the actual date of birth overrules grade for division placement. Divisions and age groupings may change due to the number of registrants. We currently have two major divisions in our league which are Instructional and Competitive.
The Instructional Division is a non-competitive learning environment. Each session players are placed into groups which cycle through different skill building stations. Each station is designed to provide positive reinforcement while supplying the player with a multitude of ball handling opportunities. Instructional division sessions end with several brief noncompetitive scrimmages where the focus is on having fun, passing the ball and working as a team. The Instructional division assistants act as the referee and game facilitators during these scrimmages.
The Competitive Division is also a learning environment however is structured differently than the Instructional Division. Players are assigned to a CO-ED team with whom they practice and play with each week. In this division there are full length games, supervised by a referee, a score is kept and league standings are posted. At the end of the season there are either play-offs or a tournament for Bantam and Junior Divisions. The teams can be intramural teams or travel teams.
Instructional Division will receive their T-shirt on the first day of the season.
Competitive Division uniform distribution take place on the day of the first game.
